Title: About Bumping Topics
Activebuttons - June 28, 2009 06:43 PM (GMT)
Alright. I've seen a lot of topic bumping in this forum. You know how old some of the topics are, and after what I've seen, I'm going to be purging a LOT of them.
Here is a definition of bumping, just in case some of you don't know.
bump-This word is posted to a topic thread if the poster wants to re-call attention to the thread.
Most regular forum users typically hit "new posts" to read new posts since their last visit, so an old topic will be lost to these readers. Bumping a topic is essentially "bumping" it back into view for most readers.
Now, you guys bump topics without actually saying BUMP, but it's basically the same thing. Since the topic is old and lost, nobody wants to contribute to it anymore. There was a reason nobody posted in it for over a year.
Guys, please stop bumping old topics. Thanks.

Also, it's time for a good ol' forum cleaning. Watch as the spam...DISAPPEARS.

I only bump my topics like my Shop and contests. I've only did it twice and sorry if it's wrong.

I am currently purging all topics that have not had new posts for over 50 days. That should leave the forums nice and clean. I am also deleting useless topics, old topics with no replies, and other things. Mewi1, as long as your shops and contests are not too old, it is alright to post in them, get people to see them.

^ Is an example of spam, which does not belong in this topic. Please keep your posts relative to the topic name. Kthx.

About time you all set out this beautiful rule :)
Don't ask why I said that -_-
Faltzer - July 13, 2009 11:33 PM (GMT)
This rule is silly and an over-reactive. If the post is relevant, then it should not be considered an illegal bump. Either way, threads die because someone kills it with inane and unfunny dialogue.

i think that the idea is great if you do that then ill not get confused anymore and bump old topics again :) the only reason why i bump old topics is because i forgot to read the last post date :(
